About these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website ratnashree.in and all consultations, reports, gemstones, products and jewellery offered by Ratnashree, a unit of Arun Sachdev & Sons, 117 M.G. Road, Kolkata 700007 ("we", "us"). By using the website, creating an account, booking a consultation or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These Terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and do not require a physical or digital signature.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. A minor may use our services only through a parent or legal guardian. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your password confidential and to tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. An account is personal and may not be transferred. We may suspend or close an account that gives false information or breaks these Terms.
Nature of our services
Jyotish (Vedic astrology), Vastu, numerology and gemstone recommendations are traditional sciences of guidance. Our consultations and reports offer interpretation and suggestions based on these traditions and on the information you provide. They are not a guarantee of any result, outcome or event.
Nothing we say or publish is medical, psychological, legal, financial or investment advice. Please consult a qualified professional for such matters and do not stop or delay any treatment on the basis of an astrological reading. If you need emotional support at any time, please contact a mental-health professional or the Tele-MANAS helpline, 14416, immediately.
Computer-generated reports such as the Instant Kundli and Cartography are calculated automatically from the date, time and place you enter. Their accuracy depends on those details. Small differences from other software can arise from the ayanamsa, time zone or method used.
Gemstones, products and jewellery
Gemstones are described by colour, weight, shape and origin as stated on the accompanying laboratory report. A laboratory report confirms the gemmological identity of a stone; it does not certify astrological effect. Spiritual products such as rudraksha, yantras and malas are sold as items of faith and practice; we make no promise of a particular benefit. Photographs are indicative; natural stones and handmade items vary. Prices may change without notice; the price confirmed at the time of order applies.
Payments
Prices are in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Online payments are processed by our payment partner (Razorpay). We do not store your card or bank details. You must use only a payment method you are authorised to use. If a payment fails but your account is debited, the amount is normally reversed by your bank or the payment partner; if it is not, please contact us with the transaction reference.
Cancellations and refunds
- Gemstones, rudraksha, yantras, malas, jewellery and all other products: all sales are final. We do not offer exchange, buyback or return.
- No trial wearing: stones are not given on trial, including Neelam (blue sapphire) and Lehsunia (cat's eye).
- Digital reports (Instant Kundli, Cartography): non-refundable once generated, because the service is delivered immediately.
- Consultations: a booked consultation may be rescheduled once if you inform us at least 24 hours in advance. Fees are not refundable for missed appointments or for incorrect birth details supplied by you.
- Duplicate or failed payments: a payment taken twice for the same order is refunded in full, less any charges levied by the payment gateway.
- Approved refunds are made to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days.
Intellectual property and copyright
All content on this website, including text, articles, report formats, interpretations, charts, maps, designs, logos, the names Ratnashree, Alankaran and Arun Sachdev & Sons, photographs and software, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and other applicable laws. Reports are licensed to you for your personal, non-commercial use only. You may not copy, reproduce, publish, resell, frame, scrape or create derivative works from any part of the website or reports without our written permission. Map outlines are based on Natural Earth public-domain data. If you believe any content infringes your rights, please write to the Grievance Officer below and we will act promptly.
Privacy and your data
We collect the details you give us: your name, email, mobile number, birth date, time and place, and order and payment references. We use them only to provide the services you request, to keep your reports, to contact you about your bookings and orders, and to meet legal obligations. Birth details are personal data and we treat them as confidential. We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website, payments and communications, under confidentiality, or where the law requires. We process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You may ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by writing to the Grievance Officer; some records may be kept where the law requires. While we take reasonable security measures, no transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the website: no false or fraudulent bookings, no harassment of our staff, no upload of malicious code, no attempt to gain unauthorised access, and no use of our content or reports for commercial resale.
Limitation of liability and indemnity
Services are provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for decisions you make on the basis of our guidance. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service or product concerned. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the website.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to resolve any dispute amicably. Disputes not resolved within 30 days shall be referred to a sole arbitrator under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat and venue at Kolkata, in English. Subject to this, the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
